And He went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem. Then one said to Him, “Lord, are there few who are saved?” And He said to them, “Strive to enter through the narrow gate, for many, I say to you, will seek to enter and will not be able. When once the Master of the house has risen up and shut the door, and you begin to stand outside and knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, Lord, open for us,’ and He will answer and say to you, ‘I do not know you, where you are from,’ then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in Your presence, and You taught in our streets.’ But He will say, ‘I tell you I do not know you, where you are from. Depart from Me, all you workers of iniquity. – Luke 13:22-27

Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron, - 1 Timothy 4:1-2

Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end, - Hebrews 3:12-14

September 11, 2001, 9/11 is a day to remember. Of the 2,977 people who died that day, I want to remember the estimated 200 jumpers.

When the plane hit the first tower, all elevators and stairwells to the upper floors were demolished; there was no going down to save yourself and no first responders going up to the rescue. Because of the fire, no helicopter rescues were possible. The only way to escape the inferno was to jump.

The Twin Towers were about one-quarter a mile high, 1,368 feet tall, or 110 stories. The media stayed away mostly from broadcasting the jumpers. You can find some pictures and videos, but the jumps were so horrendous that the public couldn't stomach the visual.

The firefighters who gathered for direction at the doors of the Twin Towers would hear these thuds, thinking it was debris falling about, aghast that it was the bodies of men and women. Every few seconds, there would be a thud. Bodies of husbands and wives, sisters and brothers, friends and schoolmates were smashing to the ground. A few people jumped together, holding hands. The first firefighter casualty was a falling jumper.

What is it that the public couldn't stomach, the view of people jumping to their deaths, that the jumpers found falling a more tolerable death? I must paint a picture that I can only imagine why they chose to jump.

Over the last year, I have given some thought and conclusions to what people call the deconstructing of their faith. We are in the midst of the great falling away. People are declaring on their social media 'why' they aren't following Jesus down the narrow path anymore after years of believing. Instead of shouting from the rooftops of the revealed light of God in darkness, they are shouting their truth and experience from a greater darkness than before.

After nightfall, go outside for 15 minutes tonight until your eyes are used to the dark. Then, come inside, where the lights are bright, for 5 minutes. Return to the night sky, and you will see how much darker it got after exposure to the light.

I thought deconstructing was terrible. But then God shared with me something else happening in the Church that was not as loud and boisterous as the deconstructing crowd. It is those who are silently quitting Jesus. They are doing the same deconstruction but doing so silently.

You Love God But Do You Like God

I love you with eternal love but hate your flesh. Those were the words I heard in my heart one-day last week. I was oblivious to what I did to provoke such a statement. What did I do that God hated? I did not know.

Fast forward to Friday, and I was found to be the parental guardian of my 3-year-old niece and 11-year-old nephew as my mother and sister headed for a weekend getaway. If you know me; I'm a healthy recluse and need a lot of alone time. I can't remember when I went two and a half days without separation from people. I leaned on the grace of God, and I got through, and this is my story.

My niece is at the age where she is Dora the Explorer, looking for the next adventure to give her five senses something to shout about. Anything that is closed gets opened—all doors, drawers, bags, and boxes.

My nephew is developing his way, his truth, and his life. His way is what he wants. His truth is that no one understands him and is against him. His life is whatever he feels like at the moment.

Last week, I sent a newsletter stating what I do in Ministry. I spent all week with another idea to write, but when I sat down to write, something else came from my heart. I didn't know God was setting me up for encouragement and correction.

I have grown weary, dissatisfied, and disillusioned about my life. I'm not tempted to return to Egypt or live on my terms. I am not tempted to quit what I am doing. God is my life, and His will matters more to me than my life. However, my heart spoke things that should not be said to a holy God. Thoughts that exalted itself over the written word of God but never left my lips. Over the past year, I have seen God's loving kindness and soft correction, but recently, I needed a shout—a solemn rebuke.

I am not new to the Ministry. I grew up in Ministry as a child. I didn't serve the Lord nor knew Him until I was 28, but I did know the inner workings of Ministry. I got saved on Labor Day 1999; four days later, I entered Ministry on the streets of Oklahoma City doing the work of an Evangelist. The group I joined took sack lunches to the homeless throughout the camps and hidden places downtown OKC.

I want to share what I do that may be a blessing to you and those you love. I am a foundation teacher committed to helping and keeping people grounded in the Word of God. I do this through websites such as www.adultbiblestories.com, where I release videos as we read through the Holy Bible every year. Having the whole council of God before us helps you from digging a ditch to fall into.

www.danielswindow.org is a weekly devotion on how to watch and pray as Jesus commanded in the garden. We ought to be like Daniel, watch and not avoid praying unceasingly with our windows open to Heaven. Through prayer, we come to Jesus to bare a light burden and easy yoke. Through prayer, we are empowered to carry out the will of the Father. Our spirit is willing, but our flesh is too weak to carry it out unless we give ourselves to prayer as Jesus did in the garden. Prayer helps us stand rather than run like the disciples who slept.

It is said that criminals return to the crime scene. Dogs return to their vomit, and pigs return to the mire. When people get off course and find themselves unhappy, they return to their roots. But what are those roots, and do you want to return to something you turned away?

Freedom is for anyone who can keep it. Few can. Maintaining freedom is difficult for the United States of America, Adam and Eve, Israel, and you and me.

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. "Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. "For My yoke is easy, and My burden is light." - Matthew 11:28-30 NASU

Jesus, who is from Heaven, came more than to save us but to exchange with us. His exchange rate is an easy yoke for a heavy-laden yoke and a light burden for a weary one. That is the exchange. However, many folks do not want an exchange but prefer one way transfer to drop off their burdens at the feet of Jesus and then leave without responsibility. Thank you, Jesus; see you tomorrow when I drop off my dirty laundry. I don't want the responsibility. Not knowing they also negate any freedom without responsibility.

Walk with God

Adam walked with God in the garden before hiding. Enoch walked with God and was found no more because he was taken. Two men on the way to Emmaus walked with the risen Jesus and didn’t even know until their eyes were opened. And Jesus calls us out to take up our cross and walk with him today. Walk with me, as we walk with Christ.

Scripture

They heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God among the trees of the garden. - Genesis 3:8 NASU

Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him.  - Genesis 5:24 NASU

While they were talking and discussing, Jesus Himself approached and began traveling with them. - Luke 24:15 NASU

And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me. "For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake, he is the one who will save it. - Luke 9:23-24 NASU

Financial support

Let him who is taught the word share in all good things with him who teaches. Galatians 6:6

How do I get saved?

Jesus said if you want to follow me, you must lose your life. A higher standard than the typical ask Jesus into your heart confession. You have to start somewhere, so make the confession, but then do what Jesus said daily if you really believe in him. Jesus continued telling those who want to follow him that they must also take up their cross. Which means following Jesus will put you under the microscope of today's society. But that is part of the plan of losing your life so that you may live for him eternally. And why would you want to follow Jesus with all the trouble that goes with being his disciple? Because he is the only way through death to eternal life. He is not showing us the way. He is the way!

What is 'Walk with me'?

We are living in the Enoch generation. Enoch walked with God and was found no more because God took him. To walk with God means to hear, to reflect, and then to go out into all the world proclaiming Christ crucified. As a Bible teacher, I have several websites that help people walk with God. If you don't have a church home, walk with me until you do. Walk with me is my version of onboarding people into the Kingdom of God. Subscribe to the Walk with me Newsletter to begin.
